What to Expect

This tour is designed for experienced cyclists who are accustomed to long-distance biking. It is ideal for those who have previously participated in a Green Path Pedals tour. Riders will be required to participate in a training plan prior to the trip to prepare themselves for the ride. Full food and lodging will be provided for each rider throughout the trip. Our support vehicle will be available to pick up riders if they or their bikes are unable to continue for any of the reasons outlined in the safety packet. On day 7 riders will enter Canada and will need a valid passport to continue on to Toronto.

This trip offers a truly rewarding experience with stops in vibrant cities and paths that take riders through breathtaking natural landscapes. It is best suited for those who are eager to challenge themselves while being a supportive member of a group. Given the length of the rides, we seek participants who are respectful and inclusive, helping to ensure a positive experience for everyone.

Riders should come fully prepared with all necessary gear for the 8-day journey.     • End of day 1 ride in South Bend, check out the University of Notre Dame campus.

    • Take breaks in the small towns of Middlebury.

    • Wake up early to give riders extra time in Toledo.

    • Check into your accommodation, relax, and enjoy the town for the evening.

    • Visit the Glass City Metropark or tour the National Museum of the Great Lakes

    • Ride past the rural farmlands of Ohio ( no need to worry about elevation change! )

    • Stop for a quick lunch in Fremont.

    • Arrive in Norwalk, “the best little city” in Ohio.

    • Follow the route along the lake and prepare for city traffic as the group heads into Cleveland.

    • Rock & Roll Hall of Fame: Explore this iconic museum dedicated to the history of rock music.

    • Cleveland Museum of Art: If you're a fan of art, this museum is one of the best in the country.

  • (Distance: ~110 miles)

    • Wake up early to get a start on the longest day of biking of the trip.

    • You’ll follow the Lake Erie coastline for much of the route with a quick stop through the intimidatingly named Painesville.

    • End the long day with some city biking. As you approach Erie, expect light to moderate traffic.

    • take some time to unwind in one of Eries many cozy cafes.

    • You’ll start the route with a 1500ft climb (better to get it out of the way at the beginning of the day).

    • Enjoy the waterfront views as you approach Buffalo. The last leg will take you through more urban areas, so traffic might pick up.

    • Enjoy a famous Buffalo chicken wing meal at Anchor Bar, the birthplace of the Buffalo wing.

    • Bike 20 miles to Niagara Falls! Stop at Bridal Veil Falls for pictures and enough time to explore.

    • Experience the falls up close with a boat tour of the iconic Canadian Horseshoe Falls.

    • After your time at the falls, head toward the Rainbow Bridge for crossing into Canada.

    • Celebrate the end of the journey by biking into Toronto and ending your ride at the famous CN Tower.
